BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 16. The technical and economic performance data for the power plants operated by the State Energy Service of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic from January through October 2024 has been released, Trend reports referring to the State Service.

Data indicates that 52 percent of the total electricity generated during this period was produced from alternative and renewable energy sources. The remaining 48 percent came from thermal power plants, with 39 percent generated by hydroelectric stations and 13 percent from solar power plants during the reporting period.

This marks an 18 percent increase in the share of electricity produced from renewable and alternative sources compared to the same period last year. In 2023, the figure was 34 percent, while in 2024 it has risen to 52 percent.
