BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 15. Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, and TotalEnergies CEO Patrick Pouyanné have discussed cooperation in the renewable energy sector as part of the COP29 conference, Trend reports via the ministry.

"A business lunch was held during COP29 with Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov and Total Energies CEO Patrick Pouyanné in attendance. The meeting included an exchange of views on industry leaders' efforts to reduce methane emissions and explore Azerbaijan's potential in this field. The two sides discussed the implementation of Total Energies' wind, solar, and energy storage projects in Azerbaijan, as well as the company's interest in participating in renewable energy initiatives in the Caspian region. The conversation also focused on opportunities to expand cooperation and accelerate the promotion of green energy in Azerbaijan," the ministry said.

The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will run until November 22, opened at the Baku Olympic Stadium on November 11.
