BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 15. The establishment of the Clean Energy Center in Azerbaijan will create favorable conditions for the development of regional sustainable energy markets and attract investments, ECO Secretary General Asad Khan said at the launch event for the ECO-UNIDO Clean Energy Center, Trend reports.
“The Center will foster the development of regional sustainable energy markets and investment attraction. We are confident it will become a key part of the global network of regional sustainable energy centers,” he said.
The Secretary-General also stressed the importance of accelerating resource mobilization by all stakeholders, including doubling efforts to increase initial funding.
"Advancing the regional energy agenda requires active participation from all parties involved. We must develop regional policies that are not only effective today but also adaptable to the evolving energy landscape.
The effective execution of this initiative necessitates ongoing engagement and collaboration among stakeholders. This conversation should center on exploring innovative strategies and leveraging cutting-edge resources to cultivate a forward-thinking regional energy framework.
In this regard, we urge member states to actively participate in discussions and swiftly move to the program phase. We are confident that the center will become an important institution for achieving our shared clean energy goals, and we count on the support of member states," the Secretary-General added.
