ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 15. Kazakhstan plans to provide clean water to more than 95 percent of its rural population, Trend reports.

In his speech at the First Forum of Agricultural Workers, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, touched on important aspects of agriculture. The President, addressing the issue of water supply, announced the allocation of funds this year for the construction of water pipelines in 200 villages.

Tokayev also mentioned the establishment of 13 rural schools this year under the national project "Comfortable School." 38,000 kilometers of local roads have undergone repairs over the past five years.

"An important task is to increase the income of the rural population. The 'Aul Amanaty' program offers microloans with an annual interest rate of 2.5 percent. As a result, about 16,000 new jobs have been created in rural areas," the president emphasized.

Tokayev also touched on the topic of life expectancy in the country. He said that the average life expectancy is set to increase, having already surpassed 75 years, which is one of the key achievements of the state’s social policy.

At the end of the forum, the President awarded a number of agricultural workers with state honors and medals. After the forum, President Tokayev also visited an exhibition of agricultural producers showcasing deep-processed products, modern agricultural technologies, and investment projects, including those involving foreign investors. The First Forum of Agricultural Workers gathered more than 2,000 participants from all regions of the country. Representatives of agroholdings, farmers, workers of peasant farms, and investors attended the event.
