BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 28. Iran imported 23.4 million tons of goods worth about $37.1 billion, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2022), the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Morteza Emadi said, Trend reports citing the administration.
The customs official said that Iran's imports for 8 months increased by 15.2 percent in value, while decreased by 12.4 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
He added that corn feed, rice, wheat, soybeans, sunflower oil, mobile phones, compressed soybeans and unprocessed sugar were main imported goods to Iran for the reporting period. These goods were mainly imported from the UAE, China, Türkiye, India and Germany.
In total Iran's non-oil trade turnover for 8 months amounted to 93.8 million tons worth $69.5 billion, which is an increase of 10 percent in value compared to the same period last Iranian year.
