BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 7. The cumulative volume of securities transactions at the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) for the period spanning January to October 2024 reached 50.3 billion manat ($29.5 billion), representing a 2.6-fold increase compared to the corresponding timeframe in the previous year, Trend reports via BSE.
The data indicates that the trading volume in corporate securities has experienced a 63 percent increase when compared to the corresponding period from the previous year. The volume of trading in government securities on the primary market experienced an increase of merely two percent.
On top of that, REPO (repurchase agreement) operations grew by 277 percent. Specifically, in comparison to the prior year, the market for REPO operations involving corporate securities experienced a growth of 7,805 percent.
On the final trading day of October 2024, the market capitalization of shares reached 6,078 billion manat, equivalent to $3.5 billion.
