BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 6. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will be participating in this year’s UN Climate Change Conference (COP29), set to take place from November 11 to November 22, 2024, in Baku, Trend reports.
This year’s COP29 aims to drive accelerated climate action, with a focus on expanding climate finance and engaging the private sector. EBRD's delegation, led by President Odile Renaud-Basso, includes senior leadership such as First Vice President Jürgen Rigterink, Vice President Mark Bowman, and Managing Director of Climate Strategy and Delivery Harry Boyd-Carpenter.
A longstanding climate finance leader, the EBRD aims for at least 50% of its business to support green initiatives, a target it met last year with 6.5 billion euros in green investments.
Several EBRD-hosted events will be live-streamed, offering a glimpse into the bank’s latest climate initiatives and its strategic vision for achieving transformative change through private finance and green innovation.
