BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 6. Azerbaijan is implementing systematic, planned, and well-thought-out measures aimed at diversifying its green economy and tackling climate change, said Elchin Babayev, the Rector of Baku State University (BSU), Trend reports.

Speaking at a roundtable event titled "Information warfare: the nature and goals of information attacks against Azerbaijan ahead of COP29" at BSU, Babayev emphasized that Azerbaijan has mobilized all available resources to organize the upcoming COP29 conference at the highest level.

“It is no coincidence that the year 2024 was declared ‘In Solidarity for a Green World' by President Ilham Aliyev. However, Azerbaijan's achievements are causing concern among some of our unscrupulous neighbors and their backers. The fact that Azerbaijan, not international organizations, has implemented four well-known United Nations resolutions is particularly unsettling for these 'unfortunate neighbors' and their supporters.

Unable to affect us through international law, these circles have resorted to information attacks and the spread of disinformation. These attacks, threats, and even malicious political campaigns—particularly ramped up in the lead-up to COP29—are designed to distract us from our goals and undermine the growing authority of our country," Babayev added.
