BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 16. The installation of wind turbines at the 476 MW Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm, a joint venture between global clean energy leader Iberdrola and the UAE’s Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company), has been successfully completed, Trend reports via Masdar company.

This marks a significant milestone for both companies in their commitment to expanding renewable energy in Europe.

Once fully operational, Baltic Eagle is expected to deliver renewable power to approximately 475,000 households, while cutting carbon dioxide emissions by an estimated 800,000 tons annually. The project involved the installation of 50 Vestas turbines, each with a capacity of 9.53 MW, carried out by Fred. Olsen Windcarrier, a specialized shipping company.

Baltic Eagle is the second of Iberdrola’s three flagship offshore wind farms in Germany, which together form the company’s Baltic Hub. This includes the already-operational 350 MW Wikinger wind farm and the planned 315 MW Windanker project. By 2026, the Baltic Hub is expected to exceed 1.1 GW in total capacity, representing an investment of around €3.7 billion.

The project also marks Masdar’s first venture with Iberdrola and its inaugural project in Germany, achieved through the company’s largest-ever euro-denominated financing. The collaboration reflects both companies' ambitions to drive energy transition efforts globally, reinforcing Germany's renewable energy goals in the process.
