ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 15. An international conference on water management addressed the rehabilitation of degraded landscapes in the transboundary areas of Turkmenistan, Trend reports.

The topic was discussed during a presentation of Turkmen representatives at the scientific and practical conference titled "Land Reclamation and Water Management - the Basis of Food and Environmental Security " in Moscow.

Participants included scientists from the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, the National Institute of Deserts, Flora, and Fauna of Turkmenistan, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection.

The conference also focused on issues related to water resource utilization and the development of reclamation systems.

Special emphasis was placed on exploring biosphere-based natural resource management strategies to enhance comprehensive land reclamation and the creation of educational and research plots for innovative irrigation techniques.

The discussions also encompassed feed production systems under flood irrigation, engineering solutions for soil reclamation, and the integration of hydraulic technologies in agricultural machinery. Representatives from multiple countries shared insights and initiatives focused on advancing water management and promoting ecosystem health.
