BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 15. Since the European Union has imposed new sanctions on three Iranian airlines, not a single Iranian airplane will fly to European countries from now on, the secretary of the Association of Iranian Airlines Maqsoud Asadi Samani told local media, Trend reports.

According to him, the European Union has imposed new sanctions against Iranian airlines IranAir, Mahan, and Saha. IranAir was the only airline operating flights from Iran to EU countries. There were many requests for Iranian flights to Europe. However, after this, these requests will naturally be directed to foreign airlines. Naturally, this will entail an increase in ticket prices in the direction of EU member states.

Asadi Samani added that, of course, due to the current special conditions of the region, some foreign airlines have restricted flights to Iran. Based on this, under such conditions, some of the flights to Europe will be made by interchange flights via Türkiye or the UAE.

To note, the Council of Europe on October 14 imposed restrictive measures on seven individuals and seven institutions related to Iran's supply of missiles and drones to Russia, as well as actions undermining peace and security in the Middle East and the Red Sea region.
