BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 15. Kyrgyzstan is expecting a new grant from the World Bank (WB) to bolster educational initiatives, Trend reports via the Ministry of Education and Science of the country.

The future funding was discussed during a meeting between Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Education and Science, Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, and WB representative Rita Almeida. The potential for securing funds through the International Trust Fund for long-term educational programs was also on the agenda.

A significant focus of the meeting was the transformation of the education system in Kyrgyzstan. It was noted that the WB has supported initiatives aimed at modernizing education, particularly in enhancing teacher qualifications and developing digital skills.

As of July 31, the WB program in Kyrgyzstan has comprised 24 projects aimed at modernizing and developing various sectors, with commitments totaling approximately $1.2 billion.
