BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 16. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), in collaboration with the European Union (EU), has launched a new €10 million financial package for ProCredit Bank Moldova under the EU4Business-EBRD Credit Line initiative, Trend reports via the EBRD.
This financing aims to bolster micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Moldova by providing funding in both euros and Moldovan lei to help these businesses upgrade their equipment, products, and services to meet EU standards, enhance competitiveness, and capitalize on international trade opportunities.
A significant portion of the loan—at least 70 percent—is earmarked for green technology investments, supporting Moldova's shift toward sustainable business practices. The package also includes EU grant funding, offering incentives for successful investment projects by ProCredit Bank’s clients, along with project implementation consulting for both the bank and its borrowers.
ProCredit Bank, a prominent partner of the EBRD in Moldova, has already facilitated €35 million in financing through the EU4Business program since 2018. The latest €10 million injection will help ProCredit Bank address rising demand from its business clients, ensuring continuous support for the country’s evolving MSME sector.
The EBRD remains Moldova’s largest institutional investor, with over €2.4 billion invested across 177 projects to date, further underscoring its commitment to driving economic growth and sustainability in the region.
