Georgian Defence Minister will participate at NATO ministerial meeting

Georgian Defence Minister Irakli Alasania will attend the NATO Defence Ministerial meeting. The Georgian Defence Ministry told Trend the meeting’s main agenda items are the international mission in Afghanistan, cyber security and ballistic missile defence.

Georgian Defence Minister Irakli Alasania will attend the NATO Defence Ministerial meeting. The Georgian Defence Ministry told Trend the meeting's main agenda items are the international mission in Afghanistan, cyber security and ballistic missile defence.

NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen will open the meeting on October 22.

The Georgian Defence Minister will hold bilateral meetings with co-chairman of the NATO Military Committee, General Knud Bartels, NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, James Appathurai, as well as defence ministers and ambassadors of NATO member states under NATO headquarters within the ministerial meeting.
