ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 19. Serbia eyes strengthening economic partnership with Kazakhstan, including in the areas of trade, investment, and joint projects in key sectors of the economy, stated the President of Serbia during narrow-format talks with the President of Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who is currently on an official visit to Serbia, thanked the Serbian side for the warm welcome, and remarked that his first visit to Serbia as head of state opens a new important chapter in Kazakh-Serbian relations.
According to Tokayev, in recent years, Astana and Belgrade have made significant strides in strengthening economic cooperation, actively developing trade and investment relations. Taking the opportunity, the President of Kazakhstan expressed gratitude to Aleksandar Vučić and the people of Serbia for the solidarity shown during the spring floods in Kazakhstan.
In turn, Aleksandar Vučić expressed confidence that cooperation between the two countries would continue to develop based on mutual respect and trust. He also confirmed his country's commitment to strengthening political dialogue with Kazakhstan and emphasized the importance of further coordinating actions on the international stage.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the current state of relations between Kazakhstan and Serbia, as well as prospective directions for further enhancing cooperation.
To note, President Tokayev arrived in Serbia yesterday on an official visit. A number of bilateral agreements are expected to be signed during his visit, and a meeting with Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević is also planned.
