BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 19. Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Agriculture has developed a range of key support mechanisms aimed at helping farmers transition to more sustainable and efficient farming practices, said Elchin Zeynalov, Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Trend reports.
During a dynamic panel discussion focused on "Financing Agrifood System Transformation," Zeynalov highlighted the ministry’s impactful initiatives.
"The Ministry has introduced several essential support mechanisms to assist farmers in adopting more sustainable and effective farming methods. We have tools to provide subsidies, concessional loans, and grants to help farmers modernize their operations. These financial instruments enable the purchase of new equipment, the implementation of eco-friendly practices, and the use of modern irrigation systems.
For extra security, we offer support through the Agricultural Insurance Fund, which helps safeguard farmers from climate risks such as droughts and floods. This comprehensive approach ensures that our farmers are not only equipped with the necessary tools but also protected from the growing unpredictability of climate change," he said.
