ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 19. Kazakhstan and Serbia are strengthening and expanding their bilateral relations through the signing of a series of new agreements, Trend reports.
Today, in Belgrade, Serbia, the two presidents, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan and Aleksandar Vučić of Serbia, sat down for a heart-to-heart, engaging in both narrow and expanded format talks.
After the talks wrapped up, a ceremony took place to swap signed documents, with both heads of state in attendance, making it a real show of unity. As part of the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Serbia, the following documents were signed:
- Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan
and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on the readmission of
persons;
- Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan
and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on defense
cooperation;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Science and
Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of
Education of the Republic of Serbia in the field of education;
- Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Labor and
Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan
and the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans Affairs, and Social
Issues of the Republic of Serbia;
- Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of tourism between the
Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and
the Ministry of Tourism and Youth of the Republic of Serbia;
- Protocol between the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of
Kazakhstan and the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia on
cooperation in the exchange of statistical data related to mutual
trade;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Digital
Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of
Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Science, Technological Development,
and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia on cooperation in space
activities;
- Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Digital
Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of
Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications
of the Republic of Serbia;
- Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the National
Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National
Library of the Republic of Serbia;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Kazakhstan Institute for
Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan
and the Institute of International Politics and Economics of the
Republic of Serbia.
The presidents of both nations conveyed assurance that the bilateral agreements established during the visit will substantially enhance Kazakh-Serbian collaboration. Tokayev's visit to Serbia marks his inaugural trip as head of state. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that this visit will inaugurate a significant new chapter in Kazakh-Serbian relations.
