BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 19. The export price of natural gas in Azerbaijan's state budget for 2025 has been set at $242 per 1,000 cubic meters, with an exchange rate of 1.7 manat to 1 USD, said Samir Sharifov, the country’s Finance Minister, Trend reports.
In the thick of a discussion about the 2025 state budget at a joint session of four committees of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Sharifov laid it all on the line, explaining that the state and consolidated budgets for 2025 are built on the bedrock forecast handed down by the Ministry of Economy.
On this account, the nation's GDP growth is expected to hit the ground running at 3.5 percent, while the non-oil and gas sector is set to soar at a robust 4.9 percent. It looks like inflation is gearing up to hit the sweet spot at an average of 4.6 percent, while the price tag for a barrel of crude oil is pegged at a cool $70.
In comparison to 2024, the projected total state budget expenditures for 2025 are 41.3 billion manat ($24.2 billion), representing a 4.1 percent increase of 1.6 billion manat ($941.1 million). In terms of the total expenditures, current expenses will account for 60.1% (24.8 billion manat ($14.5 billion), capital expenditures for 34.1 percent (14.1 billion manat ($8.2 billion), and state debt servicing for 5.8 percent (2.4 billion manat ($1.4 billion).
