ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 19. The Presidents of Kazakhstan and Serbia highlighted the importance of enhancing connectivity and diversifying transport infrastructure, including the possibility of opening direct flights between Astana and Belgrade, Trend reports.

The discussion took place during the official visit of Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Belgrade, where subsequent negotiations were held in an expanded format with delegations from both countries.

The President of Serbia expressed gratitude to President Tokayev for his visit, noting its strategic importance for further strengthening bilateral relations and underscoring the significance of developing mutually beneficial ties.

The two presidents gave a positive assessment of the growth in bilateral trade turnover over recent years. At the same time, it was noted that the current geopolitical and economic situation in the world requires even closer cooperation.

They also discussed the broad opportunities and resources available for advancing key joint projects in industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, transit and logistics, defense and industrial complexes, digitalization, telecommunications, and aerospace.

The presidents paid particular attention to establishing practical cooperation in the areas of education, science, healthcare, tourism, and the implementation of artificial intelligence. Both heads of state expressed confidence that the bilateral agreements signed during the visit would fully contribute to the further deepening of Kazakh-Serbian cooperation.

To note, President Tokayev arrived in Serbia last night for the official visit. Prior to the expanded-format talks, the two sides held a one-on-one meeting.
