Former Baku Prosecutor’s Son Not Pleads Guilty in Drugs Smuggling

Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 November / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva / The court meeting on the case of drug trafficking by children of renowned people took place in Azerbaijan.

The Public Prosecutor read out accusation at the juridical sitting, which was held on the case of Orkhan Nadirov, Ilhama Guliyeva's son, Mahir Mirsaslanov, Adalat Miraslanov's son, and Yalchin Hasanov, Rashad Hasanov's son, and other 11 people on 14 November.

Orkhan Nadirov, Mahir Mirsaslanov, Yalchin Hasanov, Elshan Rustamov, Ali Ismayilov, Zubiya Gulami, Vugar Aliyev, Javidan Aliyev, Ramin Hasanov Kamila Eyvazova, Elshan Budagov, Hasan Hasanov and Mirali Aliyev are accused of the Article 206 (smuggling), 234.1( illegal acquiring or keeping of drug) and 234.4.1 (illegal acquiring or keep of drug for private use) of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijani Republic.

The accused were arrested as a result of the operation, which was held by the National Security Ministry in May. Ecstasy, one kind of drug, was withdrawn from them.

Although Nadirov and Mirsalamov did not regard themselves as guilty, others partially admitted their guilt.

Mirsalamov and Hasanov gave testimony at the second half of 14 November.

Mirsalamov said that he did not have nay contact with this matter.

Hasanov said that he bought ecstasy not for selling, but for personal use.

The sitting will last on 19 November with accused's testimonies.
