BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 27. The meeting of the Economic Council of Azerbaijan has been held, Trend reports via the Cabinet of Ministers.
The agenda of the meeting held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Ali Asadov included a detailed discussion of the tasks arising from President Ilham Aliyev's January 7 interview with local TV channels, indicators of socio-economic development for 2024 and the Economic Council's Action Plan for 2025, issues related to the creation of a free economic zone (FEZ) in the “State Program on Socio-Economic Development of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for 2023-2027,” and Azerbaijan's cooperation with international financial institutions.
The reports of Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov and Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication Vusal Gasimli were presented on the agenda issues.
The authorized representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Fuad Najafli and Chairman of the State Customs Committee Shahin Baghirov, who attended the meeting, addressed the issue of establishing FEZ in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The members of the Economic Council held extensive discussions on the presented issues. Following the results of the meeting, decisions were made taking into account the proposals of the members of the Economic Council, and instructions were given to the relevant bodies.
