BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 28. Chairman of the Congress of Azerbaijani Communities of Belarus Natig Baghirov has been awarded the medal of Azerbaijan "For merits in diaspora activities", Trend reports via the State Committee for Work with Diaspora.
The presentation occurred during Baghirov's meeting with committee chairman Fuad Muradov, who commended the Azerbaijani diaspora's contribution to the advancement of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus, as well as the enhancement of cultural connections between the two nations.
Muradov emphasized close attention by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva to the Azerbaijani communities and compatriots abroad.
Baghirov expressed his deep gratitude to the Azerbaijani government for the high recognition of his work.
He highlighted that Azerbaijanis living abroad always support the policy of President Ilham Aliyev and will continue to make efforts to develop bilateral relations between our countries and enhance the organized activities of the diaspora.
To note, Baghirov is a distinguished master of sports in Belarus for judo and sambo, as well as a world and two-time European medalist. Since 2022, he has served as an advisor to the president of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation.
