TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 28. Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan signed a joint cooperation program for 2025-2026, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov wrote on his Telegram channel, Trend reports.
The Uzbek minister, alongside Turkmenistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, executed a protocol aimed at the inventory and enhancement of the legal and treaty framework.
“Moreover, we exchanged the respective notes verbales on supporting each other’s candidacies in international organizations,” Saidov added.
In the interim, the trade volume between Uzbekistan and
Turkmenistan hit $1.14 billion in 2024. This represents a decrease
of 4.5 percent relative to the corresponding timeframe from the
previous year ($1.09 billion in 2023).
Turkmenistan has established itself as a key player in Uzbekistan's
trade landscape, now positioned within the top 20 partners for
bilateral commerce.
