BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 20. South Korea is implementing a plan to expand urban green spaces, aiming to reach 60 percent coverage by 2030, the country’s permanent representative to the UN, Yong Chol Ju, said in his national address at the COP29 event in Azerbaijan's Baku, Trend reports.

"It is important that, even amid global challenges like the pandemic, we continued these efforts," he noted.

The representative also noted that South Korea is actively working toward a transition to a "green" economy, with a focus on solar and wind energy. Additionally, the country has developed both medium- and long-term green growth plans to ensure sustainable development in the future.

"We are also working to establish mechanisms to implement the Paris Agreement, including the Loss and Damage Fund," he added.
