BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 20. Iran’s stockpile of uranium enriched to 20% and 60% U-235 has continued to grow, said Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), as he addressed the IAEA Board of Governors, Trend reports.

He noted, however, that significant discussions had taken place during high-level meetings between the IAEA and Iranian officials in Tehran on November 14, 2024.

"On 16 November 2024, the agency verified at Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant and at Fuel Enrichment Plant that Iran had begun implementation of preparatory measures aimed at stopping the increase of its stockpile of uranium enriched up to 60% U-235. Exchanges between the Agency and Iran on this matter are expected to continue," he noted.

On November 16, 2024, the IAEA verified that Iran had begun taking preparatory steps to halt the expansion of its uranium stockpile, particularly at the Fordow and Fuel Enrichment Plants. Grossi emphasized that exchanges between the agency and Iran on these matters would continue in the coming weeks.
