Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso in Tbilisi. During the meeting the sides discussed the reform process in Georgia after the signing of the association agreement with the EU, as well as prospects of introducing a visa-free regime with the EU countries.
It was stressed at the meeting that the association agreement will raise the relations between Georgia and the EU to a new level and make the process of the country's integration into Europe irreversible, Georgian Prime Minister's press-service told Trend.
During the meeting, Garibashvili thanked Barroso for the help in carrying out reforms and expressed the hope that this assistance will be rendered in the future.
Moreover, Garibashvili and Barroso discussed the prospects of intensifying the cooperation between Georgia and the EU in the fields of energy, transport, agriculture, education and science.
