Uzbekistan expands co-op with US in agricultural sector

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United States, Javlon Vahabov, made a working trip to the state of Nebraska, which is the leading agricultural region of the country, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of establishing and developing comprehensive cooperation with the United States regions, the ambassador held meetings with Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts (part of the White House Governors' Council) in Omaha and Republican Congressman from this state Donald Bacon.

Moreover, representatives of a number of leading world-known local companies Valmont, Lindsay, Reinke (collectively control 93 percent of the global market for the production and supply of equipment and technologies of circular irrigation irrigation), NeoGen (animal genomics) BEHLEN Industries (construction of granaries) and others.

Following the negotiations, the parties reached a number of practical agreements.

Including the study of the organization of a state's trade mission to Uzbekistan headed by Governor Pete Ricketts and the establishment of twin-town relations between the cities of Navoi region and Nebraska.

During the meeting, the parties also agreed on the inclusion of Congressman Donald Bacon in the Caucus of Uzbekistan and also his joining to the Congress delegation led by Congressman Trent Kelly, planning to visit Uzbekistan next fall, as well as the participation of Valmont in a business forum in Navoi on May 16-17.
