Azerbaijani ASCO summarizes work of "Zarifa Aliyeva" RoPax ferry vessel

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. The "Zarifa Aliyeva" RoPax-type ferry ship of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) JSC has made 332 trips since its commissioning, Trend reports via ASCO.

During this time, the vessel transported 11,780 trucks, 1,742 passenger cars, 11,350 passengers, and 305 railcars.

To note, the “Zarifa Aliyeva” ferry ship built at Baku Shipyard on ASCO's order was commissioned on April 28, 2022. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev took part in its launching ceremony.

This unique vessel can carry 100 passengers, 56 tank cars, or 50 heavy-duty road trains per trip.

Founded in 1858, ASCO's purpose as a prominent shipping company in the Caspian Sea region is to promote the harmonic and continuous flow of international freights between Asia and Europe, as well as to expand the territory of our operations beyond the Caspian Sea. Currently, the ASCO’s fleet includes over 53 vessels for various tasks.
