BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. Wilhelmsen Port Services, AD Ports Group, and Inveco LLC have collaborated to enhance trade along the Middle Corridor, Trend reports.

According to Georgian media, the three companies have agreed on operational concepts for the Tbilisi Dry Port, which is set to open in the fourth quarter of 2024.

"The Tbilisi Dry Port, located along the Middle Corridor, is a vital node on the developing trade route connecting manufacturing areas in West Asia to consumer markets in Eastern Europe, permitting the seamless regional transit of containers, vehicles, and different goods," the information specifies.

The port boasts integrated facilities, including a containerized cargo station, extensive warehouses, a vehicle storage park, and a direct rail link connecting to the Georgian ports of Poti and Batumi in the west and extending to Azerbaijan in the east, enhancing connectivity with European Black Sea ports and those along the Caspian Sea coast.

Reports from the media indicate that Noatum Logistics, a division of AD Ports Group, will oversee the operation and management of the facilities, leveraging the expertise and resources of Inveco LLC and Wilhelmsen.

AD Ports Group is actively engaged in the operation of Black Sea ports in Georgia and Caspian ports in Kazakhstan, while also in discussions for collaboration with Azerbaijan.

The Middle Corridor, in development since 2014, has seen a steady rise in cargo transportation turnover over the last three years, with 2.76 million tons passing through in 2023 and projected plans for 4.2 million tons in 2024.
