ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 27. Kazakhstan is interested in exporting locally produced cars to Afghanistan, Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin said during the Kazakh-Afghan business forum in Kabul, Trend reports.

"We propose to consider interaction in the chemical industry and the mining and metallurgical complex on the implementation of joint projects in Afghanistan in the fields of geological exploration, mining, and processing of solid minerals, as well as in the field of IT technologies. The Kazakh side is interested in the supply of domestically produced cars with the subsequent localization of dealership centers to service them in Afghanistan," he said.

On April 25, Kazakhstan launched a new multimodal export route through Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and then by sea to the port of Jebel Ali in the UAE. The new route was organized with the participation of KTZ Express. The exporter is Kazakh Bio Synergy Co., and the cargo delivery partner is the Pakistani National Logistics Cell (NLC).

The expected delivery time for goods is about 20–25 days. With the successful implementation of the pilot project, active development in this direction and the attraction of significant volumes of cargo traffic along the new route are expected.

Meanwhile, the volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Afghanistan in 2023 amounted to $636.5 million.

The structure of trade turnover is dominated by Kazakh exports to Afghanistan, which total $615.3 million. At the same time, imports of Afghan goods to Kazakhstan amounted to $21.2 million.
