TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 26. Uzbekistan's volume of imports of industrial goods reached $1.5 billion from January through March 2024, Trend reports.
According to Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, this figure has increased by 15.3 percent during the same period of last year ($1.3 billion in January-March 2023).
In total, the specific weight in the overall volume of imports reached 16.4 percent.
Russia ($621.5 million), China ($479.2 million), Kazakhstan ($144.5 million), Türkiye ($73.5 million), and Korea ($40.9 million) are the top partners sending industrial products to Uzbekistan.
Imports of industrial goods are mostly composed of iron and steel ($761.3 million), metal products ($212 million), textile yarn, textiles, ready-made items ($131.3 million), rubber products ($104.3 million), and others.
Meanwhile, according to preliminary data, Uzbekistan's enterprises manufactured industrial products worth 166.4 trillion soums ($13.1 billion) in the first quarter of 2024. This figure is 27 percent higher year-on-year (131 trillion soums, or $10.3 billion in January–March 2023).
