More than 12,000 tons of shrimp were exported from the Bushehr Province (southern Iran), during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through January 20, 2022), Director General of the Bushehr Province Fisheries Department Ali Bazdar said, Trend reports citing Iran Fisheries Organization’s website.
According to him, the province’s shrimp was exported to China, Russia, Spain, Azerbaijan and the countries around the Persian Gulf.
Bazdar added that the Bushehr Province has great potential for shrimp farming. In this regard, a number of plans are being implemented.
“Over 10 months, 28,100 tons of shrimp were grown in the province. The figure is expected to reach 34,000 tons next Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023),” the director general noted.
