TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 27. Uzbekistan’s parliamentary election is proceeding smoothly, Kobil Ayubov, an observer from Uzbekistan’s Social Democratic Party "Adolat", told Trend.

"The voting process is in full swing as citizens have been coming to cast their ballots since early morning," Ayubov remarked, describing the atmosphere as transparent and without incident. He added that people arrived at the polling stations with a sense of unity and positive energy.

The elections held on October 27 include voting for deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) and local Kengashes (councils), with polls open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (GMT+5). Preliminary results are expected on October 28.

Five parties are participating: the Liberal Democratic Party, Democratic Party “Milliy Tiklanish,” Ecological Party, People’s Democratic Party, and Social Democratic Party "Adolat." The election operates under a mixed system, with 75 deputies elected directly and 75 chosen by proportional representation through party votes.

This election is notable for its fully digitized process via the "E-Saylov" system, which helps ensure efficiency and transparency. Over 850 international observers from organizations including the CIS, SCO, and Organization of Turkic States are overseeing the election.
