TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 27. The people of Uzbekistan are enthusiastically participating in the parliamentary election, the chair of polling station No. 21 in Tashkent, Anora Irgasheva told Trend.

"Everyone is in a very positive mood. People are actively coming to vote in the elections. Moreover, all conditions have been created for comfortable voting. There are no difficulties," she said.

Irgasheva also highlighted that electronic voting equipment has been installed at the polling stations and is functioning without any issues.

"The election is being conducted democratically, and all media outlets are free to cover the voting process," the polling station chair added.

To note, polling stations have opened in Uzbekistan for election to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (parliament) of the country and to local kengashes (councils) of people's deputies on October 27.Polling stations are open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (GMT+5), with preliminary results expected on October 28.

More than 800 foreign and international observers are monitoring the election, including 245 from 43 countries and 560 from 13 international organizations such as the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

Additionally, 55,000 observers from political parties and more than 10,000 from local self-governance bodies are involved in overseeing the process.

Moreover, for the first time in Uzbekistan’s history, the elections to the Legislative Chamber of Parliament are being conducted under a mixed electoral system—combining majoritarian and proportional systems.

Participating in the election are the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businesspeople – Uzbekistan Liberal Democratic Party, Democratic Party of National Revival, Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, and the Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan "Adolat."
