BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 25. Ambassador of the European Union to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko has been summoned to the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan and was handed a note of protest in connection with adoption of a resolution by the European Commission on October 24, Trend reports via the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

Besides, the unfounded and biased statements made by the European commissioner in the framework of the discussions held in this structure were strongly condemned.

It was emphasized that the continuation of the slanderous campaign against Azerbaijan through various EU institutions, statements, and actions that infringe upon the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country, as well as interference in its internal affairs, contributes to revanchism in Armenia, thereby undermining peace efforts in the region.

"It was noted that Azerbaijan builds its relations with the European Union based on the norms and principles of international law, mutual respect, equality, and common benefit, and that the opposing side must strictly adhere to these fundamental principles.

There was also a call for the European Union to refrain from biased actions that violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, interfere in its internal affairs, and undermine peace and stability in the region," the ministry added.
