BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 25. The People's Union for the Liberation of Guadeloupe (UPLG) has released a statement from Baku condemning France, Trend reports.

"The People's Union for the Freedom of Guadeloupe expresses strong dissatisfaction regarding the arrest of its Secretary General Jean-Jacob Bicepe at Paris's Charles de Gaulle Airport upon his return from an event at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva on 23 October 2024, where discussions focus on human rights violations in territories controlled by France.

Previously, an entry ban after crossing Martinique prevented the Secretary-General from proceeding when he planned to visit the UN headquarters in the United States.

The UPLG condemns this practice as a violation of human rights and asserts its commitment to raising awareness within the international community about the ongoing situation in the country. The organization also demands recognition of the right to self-determination and national independence.

Like Delgres, Palermo, Massoto, Koudoux, Marth-Ros, Solitude, and other heroes who fought against slavery, we will continue our struggle until we achieve full freedom.

The UPLG calls on the people of Guadeloupe and all patriotic forces fighting against colonialism to condemn actions aimed at silencing those advocating for complete sovereignty and independence.

Long live a free and independent Guadeloupe! We will win!" the statement reads.
