TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 24. Uzbekistan and Vietnam aim to prepare a program of industrial cooperation development in such spheres as petrochemistry, electrical engineering, textile, agrarian, and other sectors, Trend reports.

According to information, this became known during the meeting of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh in the framework of the BRICS summit program in Kazan.

The sides discussed the development of Uzbek-Vietnamese multifaceted cooperation and practical interaction, paying special attention to trade, economic, and investment spheres.

The parties also stressed the important aspect of the systematization of contacts between governmental and departmental structures. The sides agreed to hold a meeting of the Joint Commission on trade and economic issues early next year, as well as organize a business forum and industrial exhibition in Hanoi. Special attention was paid to expanding business and tourism exchanges, including discussions on the possibility of visa-free travel.

The timetable for upcoming high-level and high-level contacts was reviewed. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh invited the President of Uzbekistan to pay an official visit to Vietnam.
