ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 25. Turkmenistan is actively developing oil fields in the Caspian Sea shelf, focusing on attracting investment in offshore blocks and optimizing production at mature fields, Trend reports referring to the International Information Center of Turkmenistan.

Chairman of the Turkmengaz State Concern Maksat Babayev said at the plenary session, “The latest trends in the global energy markets and prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation” within the framework of the international conference and exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan - 2024” in Ashgabat.

Babayev pointed out that the advancement of fields in the Balkan region would be placed on equal footing. He also pointed out the significant involvement of international companies, such as ENI, Dragon Oil, and Petronas, which are focused on oil and gas extraction in Turkmenistan's contract areas.

The Chairman pointed out that joining forces with international partners is the name of the game for sustainable growth in the energy sector and keeping the region on an even keel.

To note, the Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan - 2024 (OGT 2024) forum is an international platform that brings together leading national and international oil and gas companies, as well as industry experts and financial institutions. The main goal of the event is to strengthen the dialogue on sustainable development in the energy sector and attract investments in the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan. The forum will discuss the prospects of field development, modernization of processing facilities, as well as the introduction of advanced technologies and environmental aspects of hydrocarbon production.
