BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 21. Azerbaijan's expenditure on food imports amounted to $1.9 billion from January through October 2024.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's State Customs Committee shows that the volume of food imports grew by 10.2 percent in the first ten months of this year compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, food products accounted for 11.84 percent of Azerbaijan's total imports from January through October 2024.
Azerbaijan imported 48,200 tons of meat worth $104.8 million during the reporting period, which represents an increase of 13,400 tons (38.5 percent) in weight and $34.8 million (49.7 percent) in value compared to the same period last year.
Additionally, the country imported 10,353 tons of milk and cream valued at $20.5 million and 13,204 tons of butter and other milk oils worth $73.6 million.
