ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 24. Turkmenistan and Türkiye discussed issues of strengthening bilateral cooperation during the working visit of the Turkmenistan parliamentary delegation to Türkiye for a meeting of the interparliamentary friendship group, Trend reports via the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

The Turkmen MPs met with Türkiye's Deputy Foreign Minister Nuh Yilmaz.

The meeting also discussed the current state and prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Additionally, the meeting of MPs pointed out that parliamentary dialogue has become an important part of deepening relations between the two countries.

The friendship parliamentary groups, which are established on a bilateral basis, offer opportunities for experience exchange in legislative activity and contribute to the development of legislative diplomacy.

During the visit, the Turkmen delegation also held meetings with the President of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) under the Turkish government, Abdullah Eren, and the Chair of the Home Affairs Commission at the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Suleyman Soylu.

The parties emphasized the importance of inter-parliamentary ties as a tool for strengthening intergovernmental dialogue and expressed confidence that the activation of these contacts would contribute to the further development of relations between the two countries.
