KAZAN, Russia, October 24. The mechanism of mutual consultations must be strengthened within BRICS, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said at the first plenary session of the XVI BRICS Plus summit in Kazan today, Trend reports.
"Today's meeting is taking place in a very challenging international context. The crises and other challenges we all face pose a threat to the multipolar system. Together with other states, we are now advocating for the unification of efforts among all countries, especially developing countries, to strengthen cooperation. We highly value the work of the BRICS Plus forum," he said.
The head of state also mentioned that this forum serves as a platform for developing cooperation and strengthening mutual consultations among BRICS countries.
"In this regard, I would like to emphasize the following points. We must do everything possible to maximize the benefits of our interactions with international financial institutions. We highly appreciate similar meetings that are taking place today, as they aim to strengthen cooperation within the South-South framework and activate mechanisms such as experience sharing in various fields, joint projects, and others.
It's also essential to reinforce the mechanism for our mutual consultations. This is very important, as we must counter attempts to impose unilateral solutions by certain countries," he added.
