BRICS summit adopts Kazan declaration

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 23. The Kazan declaration of the XVI summit of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) has been adopted, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the summit held in Kazan today, Trend reports.

He also said that the declaration will be distributed as a common joint document.

"The document contains collective assessments of the global situation, summarizes the results of Russia's presidency in BRICS, and outlines the long-term directions for cooperation," added the head of state.

To note, the XVI BRICS summit started in Kazan on October 22. It consists of two parts. The first is a meeting of the member states focused on the theme "Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security", which is the motto of Russia's BRICS presidency in 2024. The second part will be a "BRICS Plus/Outreach" meeting, centered on the theme "BRICS and the Global South – Together Building a Better World".
