BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. The possibility of simplifying intercontinental relations and achieving the collective interests created by BRICS from a geographical point of view at the global level can have a positive impact on improving the level of social welfare and the process of economic development, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said at the first plenary session held in the BRICS+ format in Kazan on October 24, Trend reports.
According to him, nations that put their heads together and build bridges based on fairness and open conversation will surely come out on top in the long run.
“Iran asserts that regional and international issues cannot be resolved without collaborative endeavors. Iran, in accordance with its principled strategy, has endeavored to fortify the roots of camaraderie and augment international collaboration by establishing advantageous and rational networks of commercial relations among nations,” he noted.
BRICS, an intergovernmental organization, came into existence in 2006. Russia assumed the BRICS chairmanship on January 1, 2024. At present, alongside Russia, Brazil, India, China, and South Africa, the organization has also welcomed Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia into the fold.
