BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 23. Iran desires the formation of a joint electronic trading platform to facilitate the purchase and sale of goods among the BRICS member countries, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said at the summit of BRICS member countries in Russia's Kazan on October 23, Trend reports.
According to him, the dependence of member countries on international markets can be reduced thanks to this platform.
Pezeshkian added that the establishment and development of international mobile payment systems based on national currencies of BRICS member countries, as well as the creation of intelligent transportation systems in industrial and economic zones with the use of artificial intelligence, will help reduce delays in transportation and delivery of products.
BRICS, an intergovernmental organization, came into existence in 2006. Russia assumed the BRICS chairmanship on January 1, 2024. Currently, in addition to Russia, Brazil, India, China, and South Africa, the members of the organization are Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
Currently, the 16th BRICS Summit is taking place in Kazan on October 22–24 under the Russian Chairmanship-themed Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security.
