BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. Danish Capella Wind Technology plans to build a wind farm in Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan, Matin Abbasli, Spokesperson for the State Energy Service of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, told Trend.
As he pointed out, several meetings have already been held to discuss the project.
“We’re currently evaluating the project's feasibility,” Abbasli added.
Meanwhile, Nakhchivan is already home to 5 hydroelectric, 3 solar, 1 wind, and 1 hybrid power plant.
In September 2024 alone, 35 percent of the region’s total electricity output came from alternative and renewable energy sources. Compared to the same period last year, the share of electricity generated from renewables increased by almost 20 percent.
In the first nine months of 2023, 35.1 percent of electricity was produced from green energy, whereas this figure jumped to 53 percent for the same period in 2024. Currently, 55 percent of all electricity in Nakhchivan comes from renewable sources.
