ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 23. Heads of subdivisions of the Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan have discussed regional security, Trend reports via Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry.
According to the information, the discussions were held at the meeting within the framework of inter-ministerial consultations in Ashgabat.
In the course of the meeting, key attention was paid to the development of political and diplomatic dialogue between the two states.
The parties discussed the importance of regular contacts at the highest level and emphasized close cooperation and support within regional and international structures, such as the UN.
The diplomats exchanged views on topical aspects of international and regional politics. The issues of peacebuilding, economic recovery, and political stability in Afghanistan, as well as the need to counter new global challenges and threats, were discussed.
The sides noted the effectiveness of the partnership between the foreign ministries and highly appreciated the level of cooperation enshrined in the current program of cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
