ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 24. Kazakhstan and Türkiye have agreed to develop a roadmap for the localized production of tactical drones and operational-level loitering munitions within Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
The agreement was reached during a visit to Istanbul by a delegation led by Kazakhstan's Defense Minister, Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov, who attended the opening of the 4th International Defense and Aerospace Industry Exhibition, SAHA EXPO-2024.
Meanwhile, the exhibition showcases the latest advancements in military-industrial technologies from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, including automated troop and combat control systems, robotics, communications, air defense systems, and electronic warfare tools. The event also drew significant attention to unmanned aerial vehicles, precision weapons, laser technologies, and optical-electronic equipment.
While in Istanbul, General Zhaksylykov held talks with several Turkish officials, including National Defense Minister Yashar Guler and Haluk Gorgun, Chairman of the Defense Industry Agency. He also met with the UAE’s Minister of State for Defense, Mohammed bin Mubarak Fadhel Al Mazrouei. Notably, negotiations with Haluk Bayraktar, CEO of Baykar Defence, culminated in agreements on the production of Turkish drones and loitering munitions.
