BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 23. "The Nutcracker," the classic ballet by Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky, will be performed on December 7-8, 2024, in Houston, Texas, USA, featuring the new Houston Repertory Ballet Orchestra (HRB) under the direction of Azerbaijani conductor Tarana Taylor, Trend reports via the State Committee of Azerbaijan for Diaspora Affairs.

Notable soloists Lea Fleytoux and Jake Roxander from the American Ballet Theatre will take on the lead roles in the ballet.

Tarana Taylor conducted the 2023 premiere of "The Nutcracker," which received positive reviews from the Texas audience.

Tarana Taylor, a graduate of the Uzeyir Hajibeyli Baku Music Academy, is an accomplished pianist with extensive experience in solo, vocal, instrumental, chamber, orchestral, theatrical, and ballet music.

She served as a pianist with the HRB for seven years before establishing her own orchestra, which includes renowned musicians performing across the US and internationally.

Additionally, 15 students from the Texas Music Club, founded by Taylor in 2024, participated in the "All-State Music Festival" in the US, achieving impressive results and receiving awards.
