ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 24. Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Tatarstan's Head Rustam Minnikhanov exchanged views on priority issues regarding the Turkmen-Tatar partnership, Trend reports.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the XVI BRICS Plus summit in Kazan.

Key areas of cooperation discussed included the fuel and energy sector, shipbuilding, the chemical industry, as well as the supply of aviation equipment and cargo vehicles. These sectors are vital for both sides and contribute to the stable development of bilateral economic relations.

Minnikhanov emphasized the progressive nature of Turkmen-Tatar relations, which are actively evolving across various domains.

In turn, President Berdimuhamedov highlighted the importance of these ties and expressed confidence that the outcomes of the current visit would serve as a significant step towards further strengthening the traditional partnership between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, particularly in collaboration with Tatarstan.

The participants also underscored the importance of humanitarian cooperation, drawing on their shared experiences in science, education, culture, and the arts.

Furthermore, inter-parliamentary contacts are being enhanced to foster mutual understanding and collaboration at various levels.

To note, the plenary session of the XVI BRICS summit is taking place in the capital of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation. The meeting is attended by leaders of the CIS countries, delegations from Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, as well as heads of executive bodies of a number of international organizations.
