ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 21. The Kashagan liquefied gas terminal is being built ahead of schedule, declared Eskene LPG during a project construction briefing, Trend report.
Chairman of QazaqGaz, Sanzhar Zharkeshov, held a meeting with representatives of the shareholders of the North Caspian project with the participation of the leadership of Eskene LPG. The negotiations were attended by the management of NCOC (North Caspian Operating Company), companies Eni, ExxonMobil, Total E&P in Kazakhstan, INPEX, and KMG Kashagan B.V.
During the meeting, the management of the contractor company Eskene LPG reported on the progress of the liquefied gas terminal construction ahead of schedule. Equipment procurement for the project began on time, and the process of signing contracts is being carried out strictly according to the established deadlines. Special attention is given to monitoring compliance with delivery timelines to avoid delays in construction and commissioning works.
The terminal construction project is of significant socio-economic importance for the region. The commercialization of liquefied petroleum gas from the Kashagan field will significantly reduce its shortage in the domestic market of Kazakhstan, improving the fuel situation.
Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), the demand for which as
automotive fuel has been rapidly growing in Kazakhstan in recent
years, will start being supplied to the domestic market from
Kashagan in 2025. This was announced by the Ministry of Energy of
Kazakhstan in January 2024.
North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC) is an operating company for
the North Caspian Sea Production Sharing Agreement (NCSPSA). NCOC
is based in Atyrau, Kazakhstan.
